DESMATA-FLORA
Works on Paper
Desmata-Flora is a new idiosyncratic series created by the Cyanotype technique.
Each work has the A3 paper size and utilizes such materials as leaves and branches from my garden. This series goes along with and supports my other series, Deforestation collection.
I was also inspired by the designs of Maurice Pillard Verneuil, a talented artist and designer of Art Nouveau, which resulted in another series of patterned works.
The beauty of my garden’s natural landscape has been resonating with me for a long time, and I reflect on the idea of curated nature and its presence in everyday life.
The contrast between the blue and white colors gives depth and a sense of mystery and secrecy to plants. Due to the technique used, the silhouettes have a sense of floating in the air, which adds greater mystery and content to work.
The objects in the series are both the subjects for aesthetic view and are presented with science-like precision, attracting the viewer’s attention to the form and details. Working on this series gives me peace and uniformity with nature and allows me to see the familiar objects in a new light.
